Tonight is one of the most anticipated match-ups of the NFL season with the 9-2 New York Jets playing the 9-2 Patriots. Rex Ryan is 2-1 versus the Patriots as the Jets head coach and tonight should live up to all of the ESPN hype.
The Patriots are coming off what seems like a bye week since they played on Thanksgiving, as well as the Jets playing Thanksgiving night, so there doesn’t seem to be much of an advantage for either team since they both played on the same day. Belichick and his sweatshirt and headband will have time to incorporate some new offensive packages, as well as Rex Ryan being able to practice a few more days without Jim Leonard.
I give the edge to the Jets because the Patriots can’t stop the run and no longer have the deep threat of Randy Moss to take away the underneath defenders opening things up for Welker. The Jets run the ball and continue to run the ball and the Patriots run defense is rather suspect. The Jets have also gotten back some key players on defense, but lose a good one in Leonard. Hopefully this game lives up to the hype.
